A Baby, a Balcony, and the Hairpin: Monaco Grand Prix Done Right

When we first decided to take our 10-month-old to the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix, the reactions ranged from “Are you sure?” to “That sounds impossible.” But here’s the truth:

It was not only possible — it was surprisingly easy and incredible.

We’re sharing this post to help other families, especially fellow Formula 1 fans, see just how doable and enjoyable it can be to bring a baby along for one of the most iconic race weekends in the world.

Where We Stayed: Airbnb in Beausoleil

We stayed in a well-located Airbnb in Beausoleil, just above Monaco. It offered the perfect balance of privacy, value, and convenience — and came with the added bonus of being walkable to all the race events. With a stroller and a short walk, we easily accessed every corner of Grand Prix weekend without needing taxis or worrying about traffic.

Having a kitchen and space to unwind made traveling with a baby feel far less complicated, and we appreciated being able to step away from the crowds when needed.

The Race Experience: VIP Hospitality at the Fairmont Hairpin

For race day, we experienced the Grand Prix from the Fairmont Monte Carlo — positioned right on the legendary hairpin turn. With hospitality access, it became clear: this is the most comfortable and elevated way to enjoy race weekend as a family.

The Fairmont hospitality package included:

  • All-day food and drinks, from breakfast through dinner

  • An assortment of elegant finger foods, fresh fruit, pastries, charcuterie, sliders, and desserts

  • Attentive service staff who were helpful throughout the day, offering drinks and clearing plates quickly

  • A shaded private balcony with seating and a direct view of the track at the famous hairpin turn

The atmosphere was upscale but welcoming, and we were far from the only family there. The combination of comfort, accessibility, and race-day excitement made it a standout experience.

Dining Out: Family-Friendly Favorites in Monaco

Dining with a baby in Monaco was easier than we expected. Several spots stood out for their combination of quality food and family-friendly service:

  • Maya Mia: Our favorite dinner during the trip. A pre-fix menu, high chairs, no wait, and relaxed service made it ideal for families.

  • NONNAMARIA MONTECARLO: Perfect for takeout. Authentic Napoli-style pizza, affordable pricing, and ideal for a quiet night at the Airbnb after a busy day.

Despite Monaco’s reputation for exclusivity, we consistently found local restaurants to be accommodating and welcoming.

Getting Around: Public Transport with a Stroller

To avoid race-weekend traffic, we relied on public transportation, including local trains and buses. All were clean, on time, and stroller-accessible.

We flew in and out of Nice Airport with a direct flight to Philadelphia, which made the international leg of our journey smooth and efficient — even with a baby and gear in tow.

Final Thoughts: Monaco with a Baby is Not Only Possible, It’s Exceptional

Bringing our 10-month-old to the Monaco Grand Prix may have seemed ambitious, but it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable and memorable travel experiences we’ve ever had.

  • We walked everywhere with ease

  • We watched the race in comfort with world-class hospitality

  • We ate well and stress-free

  • We created family memories that blended Formula 1 excitement with quiet moments and local discovery

If you're a racing enthusiast, a new parent, or someone who appreciates travel that blends luxury with ease, this kind of trip is entirely within reach. With thoughtful planning and the right setup, Monaco is not just for couples or solo travelers — it’s a world-class destination for families too.
